The skin on my nose and cheeks is really dry and has been for over a year. I look dog rough unless I moisturise. My concern is that it just won't seem to go back to normal.

I've tried all kinds of things but best results seems to just be wash with cold water and moisturise with a sensitive skin moisturiser. If I skip a step though, It's a right mess again.

It just doesn't seem to fundamentally improve. I never needed a skincare regime before! It leaves me wondering if there's an underlying issue which I should attend to.

Too minor for the doctors(?), dermatologists would presumably just want to flog me whatever brand of expensive cream they're stocking(?)

You may have some sort of eczema or dermatitis. Or something else.

You might want to check there’s nothing nasty underlying and, assuming not, then your options would be to self manage, see a pharmacist or (as identified) a dermatologist.

Don’t assume that all they will want to do is sell you expensive creams - careful not to mix up trained professionals with, for example, those who work in the beauty industry with less training.
