Urgh. Medicate or die was the choice, but did the price have to be weight gain and depression?

Getting older flabbiness seems to be accelerated with almost all of the variants I have tried, and the lower mood / brain fog.

Anyone else?

Tell your doctor. I was put onto some sort of medication for high blood pressure and it caused me to have quite a lot of water retention. Weight gain and depression shouldn't be happening - especially depression...

I agree with this. Depressions and weight gain aren't cited as side effects for those drugs. Water retention is, I did get swollen ankles at the start, along with headaches, face flushing, heartbeat, dizziness, UTIs, back/stomach pain and heartburn.

Talk to your GP.

I take Bisoprolol and Losartan following a minor heart attack 7yrs ago.

No side effects to speak of.

Definitely talk to your GP. Everybody is different and meds affect (both +ve and -ve) some more than others.

I've been through quite a few bp meds and have been on Indapamide for the past 12 months. Seems to work well for me, with the only side effect that I've noticed being that I have to pee more often. But I can manage that so not really a problem.

Good luck.

I take Losartan and Amlodipine with no side effects.

Wife was taking Ramipril and that gave her a tickly cough, which is a common side-effect. She was switched to Losartan.

I started out with Lisinopril around 15 years ago and it was awful - couldn't sleep, rapid heart beat. Changed to 10mg Amlodipine and been fine ever since.

Anyone suffer ED on these meds? I’m trying to find one that works and so far, not having much luck.

I hear you, however it could also be your mood.. Low mood, equals low function. Good mood, back to normal. But then most of us weren't taking these meds when younger. Hope you have some success with finding a way forward. Not being crude, but if you suddenly found a new partner who floated your boat, I bet things would suddenly seem to be ok again. Doesn't matter what orientation you are, could be new material perks you up!!

I'm still oscillating between depressed and angry, although I have just had a death in the family and found I've lost most of the estate to unknowns.
