A quick post that I hope might help others.

My daughter has always suffered from very sweaty armpits; now a medical student so frequently wearing scrubs in warm hospitals which makes things even more obvious/embarrassing. Has tried the usual strong deodorants etc. but nothing has worked (plus often they irritate her skin).

In desperation she was looking into botox as a solution but she/we eventually stumbled across iontophoresis, in which a small (painless) electrical current is applied to the underarms for 15 minutes, a couple of times a week. We bought her a machine - not cheap unfortunately - and six months on it's been a game changer. Almost no underarm sweating (and no compensatory extra sweating elsewhere either). She's very happy.

More info here: https://www.bad.org.uk/pils/iontophoresis-for-hype...
This is the machine she uses (I've no affiliation, other options are available including DIY): https://www.iontocentre.com/product/dermadry-total...
Can be provided on the NHS in some cases: https://www.newcastle-hospitals.nhs.uk/services/de...

Just sharing our experience in case it's of use to others, especially as we'd never even heard of it as an option six months ago.

She did, repeatedly, and didn’t get on with it.
