Really noisy stomach
Discussion
As I sit here writing this, I've got creaking, gurgling, groaning and squeaking from at least 3 different areas of my stomach.
It's really bloody loud and very embarrassing. I've cut out virtually all social life and dread being at work.
Then there's the constant need to fart and a lot of burping.
Started getting noticeable a few months ago but now is constant 24/7. I've tried low fibre, high fibre and currently basically on soups to see if that helps.
Seen the Doc who has got me to do a FIT test on my stool, so waiting for the results.
Had one a year ago as I was new to the surgery and I'm 61. It was negative but had one 2 years ago which was positive.
Colonoscopy found 3 polyps and diverticulae. Polyps snipped and results were clear.
I'm a smidge under 6ft and around 11 and a half stone, I think, scales say 79kg. I'm pretty active.
My dad got bowel cancer in his late 60s, and he was active, fit, right weight etc before that, but then his health rapidly went down hill
I just know with the NHS in the state it is, that this could take ages to resolve, seeing as the symptoms can be anything from IBS to the big C, with some nasties in-between.
Just writing this as no-one to speak to and I usually find posting on PH quite cathartic.
Gotta laugh really as some of you will have read my posts about my alcoholic ex-wife and that, after 8 months, I have finally sold the ex marital home and am a step closer to getting her out of my lack of hair
Light at the end of the tunnel so just would be the icing on the cake to get seriously sick at this stage.
As the young say FML

Giving up meat has resolved similar problems for me. I reckon that a lot of meat, especially mass produced chicken, in this country is riddled with unpleasant bacteria from unhealthy production practices which simply aren't being monitored or controlled sufficiently by the authorities because it's too big a job.
Get yourself checked out fella. That sounds like the symptoms my late father had with a cancerous tumour between his large & small intestines. Pressure would build up as the food couldn't get past the tumour until enough back pressure had built up to force it thorough & then all the gurgling etc.
Well the FIT test came back normal, so that's something.
Have to join the 8am bunfight on the phone this Monday to try to see the same doctor again.
I only know it's negative because I went to the surgery to ask.
You'd think they'd let you know as soon as they get it.
Seems to be if it's OK, no action needed. How about letting the patient know....would help a bit.

Regarding getting test results promptly, this is one of the benefits of setting up the NHS app on your phone, as you're able to view test results as soon as they're available, rather that waiting for the surgery to call. It's also good for quickly ordering repeat prescriptions, and seeing consultation notes, etcYou'd think they'd let you know as soon as they get it.
