Varifocals/Contact lenses
Discussion
I've recently tried varifocals for the first time and find them to be really good. No issues switching to them which is a relief. Next up are my contacts - optician is recommended a distance lens in my dominant (left) eye and a lens for close up work in my right. Has anyone experience of this? Googling opinions reveals mixed results. I'm getting 10 pairs for a trial so it's not costing me anything. Other option are multifocal lenses but again, mixed results.
Been wearing single vision contacts for 30 years. Im on my 2nd type of varifocal contacts but im in the dont get on with them camp..... I use them for cycling, sunny days and i really struggle to read whatsapp msg, maps, text etc. I couldnt use them for work. Will persevere as its infrequent
I wear two different contacts as you describe.
I started a few years back wearing one lens as a reading correction and my other eye for distance.
With gradual change in my prescription I now wear one to correct distance and one for reading.
It took me a little while to adjust, and it's not perfect, but it works for me just fine.
I haven't tried varifocal glasses or contacts yet but I guess that will come soon enough...
