As per the title really... couple of weeks ago been diagnosed with arthritic hip, which physio & doc think is severe.
In a case of comedy timing, at the end of next week am walking 160 miles so am wondering whether either tens machine or muscle gun would be good things to take with me (along with industrial amounts of paracetamol & ibuprofen! hehe ).

If you're not using them yet then walking poles are probably more useful.

You have time to see if TENS or a muscle gun ease the symptoms, neither is going to fix it but either could give a bit of relief.

I've got some poles but never used them - strictly the walking will be pretty flat (Camino de Santiago) so was assuming I wouldn't really need them as I originally bought them for Ben Nevis.
I know neither tens or muscle gun will fix it - it's really a last minute punt which for £30-40 could be a good short term idea - if they work..?

Definitely use poles - one in the opposite hand will off load your glutes which really takes pressure off the joint. And travel as light as possible.

If the two the TENS is probably more likely to help unless the pain is more on the side/buttock rather than in your hip crease. I'd have to be really desperate to bother with either.

I'm not sure either are going to help joint pain. I wouldn't suggest muscle gun if you're having inflammation.
