Had a friend collapse and require paramedic attention last night, apparently whooping cough can lead to lack of oxygen, reckons this is the worst he's ever felt, certainly sounded rough on a brief chat this morning, paramedic told him lots of cases in the Liverpool area,100.day cough

had it when I was 40 - horrific, took most of a year to recover, and still can cause issues now more than a decade later...

Had it in the 2000's first Dr said it can't be that as I was vaccinated, second Dr diagnosed it and informed me of the rather obvious stat that no vaccination is 100% in 100% of the population.
Yep, took about 3 months for it to feck off, in the meantime a couple of coughing fits a day with the amusing bit where you nearly pass out, you do get used to it though. People around you are not so amused, apparently it looks a bit horrific to witness.

A friend of mine had whooping cough. It got so bad he went to A and E to be treated. He felt faint from the constant cough and reported this to the doctor in a bid to get some treatment after an 8 hour wait.

Doctor put on his medical record he shouldn't drive for 6 months.

Currently contesting the decision with DVLA as there was an obvious assignable cause. Not an undiagnosed cause......be wary.

Definitely not to be taken lightly, especially in children though treatment has hopefully improved since I was a nipper and it came close to finishing me off.
