Weird Elbow issue
Discussion
My right elbow on the outside facing section is particularly sensitive
Just an ever so slight tap, say when catching it on something as I walk past sends excruciating pain through the joint, as if I'd hit it with a hammer.
It's extremely sensitive to knocks or bangs no matter how minor
My arm functions fine and I can massage the area without discomfort
What the he'll is going on guys?

This isn't clear. (Hence two answers suggesting opposites sides of your elbow! )If you let your arm hang by your side with your palm facing forward is it inside/outside and front/back of the elbow.

It's the 'funny bone' area
But way, way more sensitive to a mild knock that before. Even a tiny knock is agony
This is one of the situations where it's worth someone actually examining the affected area. It's a complex joint and the ulnar nerve runs in what is usually termed the 'funny bone', Can get impingement on the nerve by bits of bone, can be other things. Hands on is really needed here.

The funny bone is where the ulna nerve runs which is on the inside of your arm. The bony point on the outside is where you get tennis elbow but that's generally worse with use (Which is where the tennis elbow support is useful to offload the tendon so day to day use isn't irritating it as much.)It's the 'funny bone' area

If it's on the outside and the only thing that hurts is knocking it then I suspect that's how it started and it'll settle with time. If it's been a while and it's not improving then get it looked at, but they may well say it just needs longer.
