A lot depends on your doc. Mine wasn't happy with the proposed wait time so nominated a different venue for a colonoscopy which shaved several months off the proposed time frame.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) their version of 'Agent Picolax' wasn't as thorough as it s/could have been so I was in for another a few months later (along with a polyp removal at the same time eek ). I would say don't be afraid to chase your doc on this as it's in everyone's best interests to get things looked at asap

I went into hospital on New Years eve. They did blood tests, scheduled an endoscopy and it was done on January 18th. I would call that good service.

I'm not sure on waiting times but if you have been waiting a while for endoscopy my husband went private and had a really good experience with Mr Andrew Clarke in Dorset. Hope this helps? https://www.mrandrewclarke.co.uk/treatments/endosc... Could be worth looking into.

I also think it depends on what the GP believes the underlying issue might be. Mine was fast tracked as they thought it was something serious, thankfully it wasn’t.
