I had Covid (for the first and only time) last October, at the time I lost my sense of taste and could only tell if something was sweet, sour or bitter.
I've now got my sense of tast back, but I cannot tolerate spicy food at all, it is a struggle and unpleasant to eat.

This became apparent over the weekend when I made a mild chilli con carne. I struggled to eat it, whilst my wife and kids said it was tasted just like mince with hardly any taste or spice.
It's a great loss for me as going for a curry, or getting a take away, was one of my pleasures in life.

Has anyone else suffered from this? Does it go away over time or will I be left eating Kormas forever?

Apparently Zinc supplements help - according to my daughter who suffered similar.

I think that taking zinc tablets has sorted this problem out.
Hardly a scientific process I know, but I've just had a tin of spicy tomato and lentil soup and I could eat it and it wasn't unpleasant.

I'll have to try a curry next to see if I'm cured!
