Two years ago my mum had shingles along her jaw into her ear and inside her mouth. Her face and gum were terribly blistered. The pain was unbearable. Whist the shingles has cleared and the pain reduced she still has pain and I believe it is beginning to get her down. Her GP’s reaction has been that the pain is likely to be lifelong. I think my mum would benefit from some form of ‘therapy’ but I don’t know what. Can anyone offer me some guidance?
Cheers

Hi Smashy. Thanks for the info, we didn’t know of the support group. Could be what she needs as although mum is 93 she is completely independent and loves tech; an enthusiastic emailer, facebooker etc.

Has she been referred to the pain clinic?

Hi Sheets. The doc has done nothing since prescribing painkillers, no review and certainly no referral to a pain clinic. I didn’t know such a thing existed. I’ll contact the doc’s to request a referral.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers
