I'm starting to feel my age a bit more which combined with a wierd conditon that affects joints etc I want to maintain strength and suppleness as much as possible. Given up booze and lost 14 kilos (now 83kg and 6' @ 53)

I spend several nights a week in hotels bored so ideal time to stick on youtube and do something worthwhile.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Have a look at: www.beachbodyondemand.com

There's several really good yoga courses here that cater for the beginner to the seasoned.

If you've not done it before, it can all be a bit weird at first but stick with it. It really is a good thing. Start with the easy ones and work up.

There's a 90 minute yoga session on there as part of the P90X series. I guarantee you'll never sweat as a much standing still as you do with that!

I would start with classes it's a much easier when you have an instructor. Once practised, use your moves solo.

Don't rule out pilates either, much crossover in the techniques.

Yoga with Adrienne on youtube is a good start for getting into it.

She does plenty of month long runs for beginners and its easy to get into.

Take a leap of faith and attend local classes either when you're home or away, nobody is judging you and mostly any good teacher will understand your needs and advise and assist when required.

Yoga and mobility with strength work is vital as you age, and luckily the stigma is starting to disappear!

I tried classes but when there's upwards of 25 people you don't tend to get much,if any, personal attention to ensure you're doing the moves correctly so you may as well just follow one of the many YouTubers, the aforementioned Adrienne is one I've used

Down Dog yoga has been a good app for me.

Also Sworkit, which has a good set of routines from flexibility to strength, beginner to expert, mostly bodyweight.
