Hi All

Can anyone a skull shaver in replacement to my current Remington five head jobbie which is nearing the end of its life??

Also, to those who tackle the head with a wet razer, what ones do you use? Ive been going through Mach proglides for fun since the Remington started to slow down. Is there a more suitable model i don't know about?

I shave the head every second day.

Thanks in advance.

I just use a disposable razor - currently using these https://www.ocado.com/products/wilkinson-sword-xtr...

However, I tend to move around to the best deal every so often. They all do a great job and I've never felt the need to go for the expensive Gillette heads etc.

In an attempt to avoid disposables, I bought a cut throat razor last week. It took an age first time out but I still have both ears, didn't bleed to death and I'll only get quicker. With a strop it was £15 on Ebay.

I recently bought a Remington RX5 to manage chemo/radio hair-loss (Which may be similar to what you currently have?) which I've been pretty impressed with. 55quid from Argos and comes with a 3 year guarantee. Might be worth holding out for Black Friday deals?

That's a crappy reason to be able to contribute. I hope you get a long lasting all clear afterwards.

Been shaving my head for the last 20 years, my current choice… the 5 bladed razor from Lidl’s.

Pretty cheap, and very good.

Go carefully with your first shave or 2, though, as they’re sharp.

I got this at the start of October. I have to admit its very good! Pricy but the convenience of cutting it back to basically 0 within a few minutes with no mess is great.
The key is to doing it every 3/4 days and not waiting longer as the longer your hair gets the longer it takes to cut back.

I use to go barbers for a shave and beard trim, 4 visits to the barbers pays for this.

After being recommended on here before, I got one of these

Makes the job so easy compared to my old Wahl clippers. Superb bit of kit.

I've been cutting mine with razors since I was around 17, I'm 35 now.

At the moment I just use cheap 5 blade razors from the likes of Lidl or Aldi but find after two cuts they are blunt. My partner for Christmas has bought me a skull shaver "pitbull platinum" now I wasn't expecting much but thought I would give it a go last night, got to say it took about 50% less time than doing it with a razor and overall felt as short.

How you getting on with it?!

2/3 of treatment is over now fortunately, not to tempt fate, but it does feel like I've turned a corner now...
I'm letting mine grow over Christmas just as a test (Checking for thinness/patchiness...) but so far, so good! beer
