Unsure if there was a better place to post - sorry if it's the wrong area.

Has anyone here got an in with the Children's DLA Assessment team?

We're struggling to track progress with my daughters claim that was submitted earlier this year.

Just got through on the phone after a 1hr40 wait in a queue to have someone say they couldn't find the details we provided - unfortunately we're away on holiday at the moment so don't have the piece of paper to hand confirming receipt with the reference number (facepalm) - and before we could question this she said "I'm going to have to terminate the call" and hung up. Sounds like a rough place to work when you have to hang up before helping people frown

Does anyone have any other methods of contacting that team? even snail mail would be fine if there isn't a web portal / email address. All signs online point to call that number and sit in the queue for 2 hours....

I’ve never been able to contact them apart from on the phone line. Any letter sent to me says we will contact me in due course and it can take up to three months. I’d just wait until you get back from holiday and try again when you have your reference number etc.

When earlier this year did you submit it?

Finally got a response awarding my grandson DLA this week having waited 19 weeks since submission to give you an idea on waiting times. His claim was very straightforward. We submitted a full and very detailed claim and they did not need to check anything with us and award him care and mobility.

Try your MP.

Mine got things moving with the DVLA with a medical licence.

Just had mine reviewed again. The claim was registered on May 12th and completed on September 15th. That was for a review. An initial claim is usually a few weeks longer. They will back date it to the date you sent the form in and they acknowledged it.
