Weird knee/shin problem. Any thoughts?
Discussion
You know that painful feeling you get if you accidentally kneel on a bit of gravel or something on a hard surface? I'm getting that all the time on one knee at the moment, and I can't figure out what's causing it.
It's actually on the top of my shin on the front outer edge below my kneecap rather than the knee itself. I'm completely unaware of it under any circumstances except when I'm actually pressing on it, so no issue going up and down stairs, doing squats at the gym, etc, but even kneeling on the bed at home is enough to make me flinch and move positions. I can do cat/cow type stuff on a yoga mat so long as everything is straight, but rolling onto the outside edge is fking agony!
I'm definitely not walking around with a gravel chip stuck to my leg, and I've not had any recent trauma on the knee that might've chipped off a bit of bone or anything internally.
Any ideas, anyone? I'm stumped!

Have you got a lump on the bone just under your kneecap, top of the shin bone?
I have quite a large bump and when I kneel I can really feel it and if I catch the angle wrong it bloody hurts.
I haven't had mine checked out, but I guess it's probably Osgood-Schlatter disease.
No, it's more off to the side, and also not a long term thing. I have quite a large bump and when I kneel I can really feel it and if I catch the angle wrong it bloody hurts.
