Seems being a male of a certain age and liking other males is now somehow socially wrong.
Any chance of the NHS finding a cure for my gayness?
Must be something that can done. I'll tell my little brother they might be able to fix him as wellAny chance of the NHS finding a cure for my gayness?
As long as it's not illegal let people live how they want/need to for crying out loud. Live life however it makes you happy as long as it doesn't affect anyone else
A500leroy - keep the faith. There's still plenty of people out there who haven't reverted to the dark ages

The serious answer is to ignore vast amounts of the media, it's toxic.

What he said! The serious answer is to ignore vast amounts of the media, it's toxic.
Ignore 99% of the media, do not go reading to nursery kids, and go have fun!
And most importantly be yourself
I do think the massive age gaps do certainly factor into the 'socially wrong' opinions. Regardless of gender, a 60 year old man chasing teenagers will always raise eyebrows.
However I've been disgusted with the huge leap to branding someone a nonce, when they've not even been accused of such a crime. That doesn't tend to happen when its an 18/19 year old female, rather than a male.

Really, I thought nobody cares anymore? Is there something you are referring to?
This.I am guessing OP is referring to Philip Schofield and Huw Edwards. If so I think the male/male thing is irrelevant, there would be just as much outcry if it was the older male star and a young female.

Most right thinking folk don't think being Gay is wrong, and those who make a song and dance about it are either conflicted about their own sexuality, mental or just plain weird, I mean worrying who other folk choose to shack up with and/or have sex with. Any chance of the NHS finding a cure for my gayness?
But, the recent news item I think came as a bit of a shock as folk will have made assumptions or never thought about his sexuality, its the salacious nature of it as he has never expressed that he is gay. To be honest it doesn't matter what a newsreaders preferences are, just if they can present news stories but its the revelatory nature of it and the age difference, to be hones if it were a young woman I don't think it would have been much different.
There does seem to be a tendency to label any interaction between older men and anyone younger as creepy and weird, even if its perfectly innocent. I think if both parties are consenting, above the age of consent and exercising free will then that's up to them. Some people prefer older people, some prefer younger, I have always favoured more mature women.
