I'm in my early seventies and for a good many years I've been taking blood pressure control medication, which seems to be working well. One thing I've been noticing recently is considerable variation in my weight, and I always know if I'm going to be heavy the next morning by how much urine (and its colour) I've done the day before.

Yesterday for instance I did very little, and when I did it was quite dark, and this morning I'm 400 gm heavier that I was the day before.

One of the pills I take is Indapamide. Its action seems to be a bit unpredictable, Over the course of one night I managed to produce 3.5litres of urine (usually it's about 1.5 litres). I've had to go at night for a long time, I think it's because I have always stood up to work and lying down seems to promote urine production.

I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue and whether there's anything I can do about it (apart from trying to get a doctor's appointment (not easy)).

Do you have swollen ankles? Yes = doctor; No = see doctor anyway

Yes could be a heart problem

No could be water retention

Either way go see a doctor
