Swallowed a load of filthy pond water
Discussion
Will I die
Did one of those team building making a raft out of barrels etc, fell into the filthiest smelliest stagnant pond full of algae and swallowed a massive gulp of it accidentally.
That was yesterday and no issues today, but should I be concerned?
Wrung my clothes out after and the water was dark brown

Weils disease is never pleasant.... about 60000 die annually from it & in severe cases mortality rates are quite high.
Its loves dirty pond water
Though there have only been half a dozen deaths in the UK from it in the last 30 years. Putting your trousers on has been deadlier. OP's probably going to be fine. Its loves dirty pond water

My suggestion is drinking a lot of flat Full Fat Coca Cola, that is what we used to drink to avoid getting "Trent River Belly" after a day of swallowing water while kayaking swimming at Holme Pierre Point.
As above, my ex used to do triathalons and when she did the London one and swam in the Docklands/Thames water she was advised to drink Coca Cola when they had finished the race as the water was pretty filthy and that would help kill of any bugs. You've seen what it does to a 2p right?

Best thing to do is not swim after heavy rain as that’s when E. coli is highest and in the U.K. we either get surface runoff flowing into the water or worse get combined sewage overflow released into rivers and the sea from our sewage systems that can’t cope.
