I've always suffered from skin tags unfortunately, seems to run in the family, but when I was showering this morning, I noticed some discomfort in the armpit area.

I looked and I have what initially appeared to be two skin tags. I'm sure one was already there from quite some time ago, but this one is definitely new I feel.

I wouldn't say it was hugely painful but I'm aware of its presence, it's a little uncomfortable, and it looks more 'red' than the other one.

I will hide it under spoiler tags so as to not put you off your breakfasts laugh The one I'm concerned about is the one on the right hand side.

Just wondering if this warrants a GP visit. I'm always on the lookout for skin issues as I also have a fair few moles on my body.

Mainly replying to bump your post up but perhaps it's just in a place where it has got a bit sore? Other than the colour it does indeed look fairly normal.

I'd be grabbing some nail scissors and cutting them both off!

I suffer with skin tags and normally cut them off once they reach that size. I did once have some 'removed' at the GP surgery. The nurse commented that injecting some local anaesthetic would be more painful that just cutting them off but it help reduce bleeding. My personal surgical skills have never resulted in any bleeding beyond a tiny spot.

I just need to convince Mrs J to pluck up the courage to remove one on the back of my neck that is starting to be annoying.

OP looks like a skin tag but you've somehow angered it. My GP will do an online appointment and let you upload photos - is that an option for you?

Nail scissors! Do you just slice them off or use some ice to numb it? I'm a wimp, I use these:

Apple cider vinegar on them everyday for a few days and they'll dry up and fall off.

Just slice them off. It doesn't hurt if you're quick.

Aren’t these just viral? Molluscum contagiosum is the culprit.

That is indeed disgusting but I think you'd be okay cutting that off.

Get the doc to look at it - he / she will know if it is worth a biopsy, but they’ll take them both off anyway.

I have a very sensitive mole / skin tag thing that i’ll get the doc to whip off next time I go to the surgery - thanks for the reminder.

Get them under my armpits, once they get to a size i can grab with my nail i just tend to pull them off. Stings for a few seconds, but heals over.

I've pulled these off before - having twisted it in various directions over a few days.
Still bled like a motherfker, though.

I'd be inclined now to go to a dermatologist and have them removed safely and hygienically.

Have you seen the price they charge? Your're talking £100's for each one.

I’be developed quite a few skin tags. Some are teeny, some are like TRD’s. I had a medium one in my face so had it professionally removed to stop scaring or any issues with reg Roth for shaving/trimming.

Was tempted to get an appoint to lose the 20 or so developed around my upper torso (shoulders & armpits).

Is it just part of getting old(er)? Or something that causes it?

Hmm, that device doesn't sound very technical. What does it do, burn them off?

The general 'Notes' are most illuminating...............

- Please keep away from children.
- With the fresh pig skin test when you using this equipment for the first time.Using it on your skin after you fully familiar with it.
- Do not clean after treatment within 30 days.
- When the scab place itch, don't grasp by hand .The scab will fall off on their own about 20 to 30 days.
- Recovery period is about 3 months, it is suggested that don’t eat ginger, beef, soy sauce ect during recovery period.

So basically you can't have a wash or eat beef for 3 months

Since the thread has been bumped I may as well update to say that the 'tag' I was asking about died and dropped off on its own. smile
