I'm a bit low at the moment.

For those that don't know what one is, I have an ICD, which stands for Implanted cardioverter Defibrillator. It keeps me alive, especially when my heart goes into a life threatening Arrhythmia, such as VT (Ventricular Tachycardia) of VF (Ventricula Fibrillation).

I'm not new to this and below is a thread I started a while back, about a year after the ICD was fitted.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

At the time I was worried about not being able to drive, now I don't car and don't I will, or want to, again for the obvious reason that I don't want to put anyone in harms way.

Since 2013 when things really kicked off, I've suffered eleven 'events' that required the ICD to intervene with a shock to bring me back. Of those eleven shocks, four have occurred in the last year and as a result I'm feeling a bit fragile, physically and mentally.

The latest 'event' and shock was just yesterday.

I've been having short runs of self terminating VT today and feel like carp.

The good news is that Northern General in Sheffield are reacting well, I have a pre-admission assessment on Monday with surgery scheduled for mid June, This was set up before the shock yesterday so hopefully be brought forward in view of the latest events.

It must be horrible and you have my sympathies. Having had a few relatively minor cardiac issues I can’t think of much worse

Fingers crossed for you for your op, light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry to hear of your woes. Heart issues are very taxing on the body and mind. Not a lot else I can say but look after yourself.
