Some good news.

They've developed a new tool that can detect the disease not only of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but also in individuals who have not yet been diagnosed or shown clinical symptoms of the disease, but are at a high risk of developing it.

It's a horrific condition. I was involved in a long term follow up study of a large cohort of patients with Parkinsons to assess the liklihood progession to dementia. (answer - if they live long enough they all get dementia)

Once true disease modifying treatments are available, early detection will be really important.
