Aches and pains in feet
Discussion
Last few years my feet are giving me some serious grief, have had quite a few issues with every year.
I have suffered with gout and am currently on allopurinol 200 mg to get my levels down but I’m not convinced it’s related to that.
Woke up yesterday with pain in the top of my right foot near the ankle, radiating up the calf when walking.
No injury to cause it.
I spend 5 days a week in work boots on hard floors, rest of the time I’m in arch support Skechers.
I do have flat feet but it’s only the last few years I’ve been suffering really.
Maybe tendonitis from what I’ve read, just wondered has anyone suffered with similar complaints?
Maybe a visit to the doctors is in order but not sure what they can do.

Could be the post tib grumbling due to Skechers being floppy squishy shoes. I bought some in the premise of helping and ended up binning them. I find firm proper shoes the best for my feet, that or barefoot.
The NHS route is GP, eventually seeing a physio, personally I would pay (or use private medical / health cash scheme if you have one).

If you have had gout in the past how flexible are your big toes?
If the big toes have reduced movement you may be compensating with the rest of your feet/legs which can cause over use/ strain etc’
It may be worth seeing a podiatrist who may be able to assess your foot and leg function. You may be helped with customised orthotics that may help improve your function

I bought some hoka trainers for walking and they seem ok.
I know what you mean about the skechers, probably won't touch them again.
My calves seem tight so maybe try some stretches.
Toe movement is ok.
Work boots are De Walt and not great but most are rubbish.

yes, tight calves and hamstrings need stretching.
a supportive insole in your workboots would be helpful something like this would be a good start: https://www.superfeet.com/en-gb/green
