Has anyone had any experience with a wrist specialist?

My local doctor had a look then had scans on it and they cant see anything despite them agreeing something is wrong. Recommended to just keep doing the exercises they gave me at the start, 2 years later and its worse.

Gotten to the point I cant whisk or stir a pot using my right hand, still have all the strength but doing actions that involve the wrist doing the moving is agony.

Problem may well not be in your wrist - best thing to do is get more of a holistic assessment (I worked on a young lad whos sore shoulder we managed to trace back to a previous dislocation of his big toe - changed how he moved when boxing) Try to find a good physio or neuromuscular therapist.
If you've nothing in your area, drop me a message, I'm not quite at that level but may be able to offer some advice over video.

I agree it might be worth seeing a physio. I had bad wrist issues and had an mri scan on it. I was referred to a physio by my doctor and over time with the exercises it went away. I’m not saying it’ll be exactly the same for you, but worth a conversation Id have thought.

I've got a wrist injury that affects static grip over short periods, splaying my fingers and associated clicking noises on rotation. It's also resulted in my thumb nail having large ridges/holes.

Had physio and was referred to a wrist specialist (private). It's looking like Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex tears (TFCC), I have an upcoming MRI with dye to confirm and to see if it will go or needs further action.

Physio helped with some exercises; grip now hasn't much pain, holding a grip for a long time still results in soreness. Clicks and clunks also remain!

As others have said, see a physio.

I get intermittent wrist issues but it's actually my shoulder which causes the problem (get shoulder pain as well but that's another story!). I assume that the shoulder must pinch on certain nerves when it gets bad causing the wrist problems, it's all very odd but if I sort the shoulder the wrist gets fixed at the same time.

Sounds like a missed fractured scaphoid. Have the doctors you've seen so far suggested this or investigated for it?

Had a X-ray and mri but she seemed to just focus on the wrist and the joint to the hand. Looking it up that looks to be more in the hand so maybe never looked for it?

To add some info if it helps, I’m only 28 with it going on for 4 years now and use my hands all the time for lifting and moving heavy stuff like logs, digger buckets etc. Can pick up a washing machine by myself so would say there’s no lack of actual strength in the wrist.

Another time it gets sore is if holding my iPad as the wrist is bent slightly, but gripping handlebars doing 50 mph in a sand dune on a quad bike for hours on end causes absolutely no pain.

Seems I need to get chasing down my doctor again to have another look.

Session with private physio should give you a better insight within a week

They can rule out the basics even if they cant find the root cause, which I imagine they could
