Hi all

Three weeks ago I woke up to severe pain in the ball (near big toe) of my left foot. I never sprained it, but have been running more than normal so assumed it was metatarsalgia.

The pain was intense, I’ve taken 2 x ibuprofen everyday and iced it every day. Tried to rest it best as I can.

Three weeks on it’s worse than ever. Doctor says rest it but it’s becoming a pain. I’m not currently driving my manual car as it’s too painful.

I don’t think it’s broken, suspect it’s not getting enough rest to recover but not much more I can do.

Any hints or tips?

Ring your local private hospital, make an appointment with the appropriate doctor/consultant.

See your GP again and continue the diagnostic process?
Name it, then treat it. That's the deal.
Maybe you need some imaging, maybe a specialist.
The NHS isn't closed.
