I've heard that's a " thing" in the construction world...

I'd probably go for these though

Used to wear them trail riding, under MX pants. The weird sensation never wore off.

It's been a 'thing' for motorcyclists since way back when. I certainly remember wearing them in the early 70s when riding through winter, as proper thermals weren't widely available then.

Merino Wool thermal underwear is the 'masculine' option unless you like the nylon feel

Reminds me of the old joke I heard more than once at teambuilding events in the early 2000's

"When I get home I'm going to rip my wife's knickers off"

*room gasps in shock*

"because they're tearing the arse off me"

*room erupts in laughter*

Or bamboo. Tried both and prefer bamboo base layer stuff.

When on foot patrol at night when the weather was freezing, I used to wear tights; under my uniform trousers.

I dreaded being injured and going to hospital, especially as I patrolled Brighton.

Long johns are a better thing than tights if you cant afford proper thermal basey layers

I suggested tights a few years ago to my son, he was in the Air Cadents and they were doing a night vigil. I suggested them and he wasn't for it, but wore them anyway. Then proceeded to come home and tell me that the entire squadron had been given the same advice, and he agreed that they made a difference!

Ah, but it's all about the feel and the encasement.
