My elderly father-in-law has given up driving and wants to sell his car.

Unfortunately, he has had a bladder control problem in later life so the drivers seat stinks of urine.

We have had the car valeted (thank you valeter) but the smell remains.

Google suggests a few cleaning products but I wondered if anyone had any success with this sort of problem and what they used?

TIA.

Second hand seat or a much deeper clean. some valeters offer an ozone machine service that is supposed to kill all smells in the car by effectively fumigating it.

I'm on the side of replacement seat. The idea of sitting on a previously-urine-soaked car seat is rather unpleasant.

Lots of vinegar (white, not malt!) worked for dog sick, and cigar smoke (Separate incidents, the dog did not spew because it was smoking cigars). Leave the doors and windows opened for a few days to air it out.

Buy some enzyme cleaner, always handy to have if you have pets or young children. Also works on milk spills that have gone off. The enzymes basically eat the smells.

There are enzyme based products that remove the bacteria causing the odour. They are designed for house training pets, but this might work for you

I would try a fogger first beforecripping out a seat.

Get a new seat. 4 bolts and an airbag plug and it's done

Get some bio-brisk enzyme cleaner and give it a deep clean.

Our shed car was great but smelt very badly of dogs from the previous owners.

I did a biobrisk clean and all was fine once thst smell had gone
