Long story short, I have been discomfort on and on off in two areas of my mouth being upper right and lower left for 2 yrs now. My existing dentist I have been with 4 yrs says no issues on upper right or in my mouth at all but was mointoring UR5. I decided to get second and third opinion from a different practices both came back with the same treatment plan, same teeth same treatments below is copy of plan lots of work needed upper right. The lower work is just replacing 15 yr old crown and inlay I had to have after an accident I fine with that.

I just don't understand how my existing dentist can have such a different opinion to two other dentists, the other dentist also say ul6 and ur4 need replacing these are the only fillings my existing dentist did in last 3 years and are apparently leaking. My existing dentist also did extraction of ul4 which was already root canalled / crowned years as I was getting some discomfort there and he thought may be root fractured it was fine and didn't resolve issue so possibly extracted unnecessarily.

I'm just trying to get my head round is my existing dentist not very good vs valid different clinical opinion, I know there are dentists here on the forum but does it sound like I have been using a not very competent dentist and should move on? I'm in discomfort now I can't keep going on like this but I'm so confused my existing dentist is nice guy I trusted him.

Two different dentists at different practices for the quotes?

Did you just let them figure it out or did you fill their heads with your problems?

I wouldn’t trust any single dentist on a bunch of big jobs, but having had two different ones come to the same conclusion is pretty robust.

Yeah two different practices and two different dentists same treatment plans 100%, plans were based on the xrays they took and photos. I only told them I had some discomfort top right on an off. I think the same 2 other practices say same thing I'm in discomfort, when I have told my existing dentist of the pain he says it's not the tooth.

For the dentists in the room it would be beneficial to post up your 180Deg X-Ray if you have it - you paid for it. That said I'm not sure if a dentist on here will provide specific advice, but might suggest areas to review?

I take it you're not planning on filling the gaps from the abstractions? Removed teeth can affect the 'movement' of those next to them.
