Help my lad! Verruca? Eczema? Athletes foot?
Discussion
My six year old mentioned some lumps on his toes a couple of weeks ago, we’ve kept an eye on them and they’re gradually getting worse.
Tonight he complained of a really itchy calf, which looks like water blisters or some sort of eczema rash.
We’ll try and get a GP appt if needed, but if it’s an over the counter job for some sort of cream would rather get it wrapped up. To my eye I’m thinking verrucas? Like all good fathers I thought I’d go straight to the car forums rather then deal with professionals! Any ideas?
Ignore the lack of little toe nail - he lost it a couple of months back under his door

Always hard to tell from pictures on a car forum but it could, maybe, be early dyshidrotic eczema.
But.
Most skin problems on the foot are usually fungal or viral (Verruca), especially in kids. Wouldn't hurt to try some antifungal treatment in a cream form and also get a verruca treatment just to cover both those bases.
If it's a verruca though they are notoriously persistent to treatment in kids but nearly always self resolve. It wouldn't hurt to see a gp in person though, if you're lucky they'll know some dermatology stuff.
Ps... I'm technically a podiatrist, not clinical anymore but used to see all manor of dodgy skin conditions.

The toes look like a fungal infection. I’d try some anti fungal cream like Clotrimazole or Daktarin (Ketoconazole). If it’s not fungal these won’t do any harm. The reason I think it’s fungal rather than eczema is it appears to extend into the nail.
The leg I’m less sure about. I’d probably start with a diphenhydramine based allergy cream to reduce the itching and see what develops - chances are it’ll clear up by itself. Probably one for the GP if it gets worse next week.

It's was many years ago when mine were six... but I don't recall them having sweaty feet at that age. Not that that rules out athlete's foot of course.
Doesn't look like a verruca. It could be a mild eczema, particularly if itchy.
Sudocrem was my family's go-to remedy for most things like this. A healing cream for most things!
