Any dentists/ mouth specialists on here? Oral hsv1
Discussion
Last year out the blue I came down with a horrific infection in my mouth. Swollen bleeding gums with loads of ulcers and swollen glands. Was off work for a few weeks and hardly ate or drank. My dentist had no idea what it was and the dental hospital saw me a few months after it healed. Was told it was almost certainly a case of primary hsv1 herpes infection of the mouth.
I believe I may have another outbreak at the moment although it’s much milder and limited to a few ulcers and tender glands in my jaw. Is there any way to a) avoid recurrences and b) speed up the healing?
