Been hearing a fair bit about this on the news lately as there has been 5 recorded deaths in the past 7 days of children under the age of 10

One report saying the cause could be due to Covid lockdown and children not mixing with other children

No idea if the media a hyping this up, it's certainly possible.
My son recently had Tonsillitis pretty badly. I've had tonsillitis in the past and, while it was unpleasant, was nothing near as bad as this. He had all the symptoms (white spots on tonsils, muscle aches, stomach pains, vomiting etc). While Luckily our GO prescribed antibiotics early (largely due to pressure from me and my wife) but then later suggested that the rashes and aches might have been an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Subsequent blood tests have proved otherwise.
My advice to anyone who is worried would be to be pushy about this. It's been a month now and he's only just returning to his normal levels of energy and the symptoms are very similar to flu/covid.
