Caffeine Addicts
Discussion
Hello all
in relation to my other thread of always being tired i'm starting to try and solve it on my own by removing things that i think it may be.
due to tiredness all the time for the past 4 years (physical weakness no energy and mental) my caffeine intake over the last 2 years or so has been 500-1000 mg per day everyday.
i am now day 18 of 0 caffeine and still feel the same tiredness i get everyday for the past 4-5 years.
i'm now assuming it isn't the caffiene
can withdrawal last this long?
most things i've read mention after 2 weeks your almost done.
i'm not going to stop yet but at least that could be one thing removed that it isnt.
anyone stopped it completely? how long did it take?
thanks

About 5 years ago i quit coffee... for a year maybe a little more, and I still suffered that 3pm after lunch sleepiness.
I was about 7 days with headaches and withdraw type symptoms. I drank similar amounts to what you have mentioned maybe a little more. First thing in morning and another 3 or 4 during the day.
However i missed my coffee,It was a social part of the day, chats at the bars etc and started drinking it again.
i typically now have 2 per day Very max and once every month maybe 3.
A big thing for me was not make the coffee first thing in the morning, aiming to have my first coffee an hour or 2 after waking up, the next one just after lunch, i do not suffer the 3pm crash i used to get.

Worked for me. I was same as you, early afternoon falling asleep almost so went for the test which showed i was intolerant to quite a lot of the things i was eating a lot of. Detox completely for 6 weeks then reintroduce and i haven't had a problem since which is probably getting on for a decade.
