It seems mine are, having another blood test to check.

Looking at all the foods to avoid.

Bananas
Nuts
Legumes
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Lentils
Chickpeas

The list goes on and on. All the stuff I enjoy, sometimes I think God hates me.

I had a blood test 4 years ago which showed a high potassium level, another blood test 10 days later showed potassium levels as normal. All subsequent blood tests since then have come back as normal potassium level, never did get a explanation for the one test showing an elevated level, they thought I was eating a dozen bananas every day !

Sometimes I wonder what can cause these blood tests to be abnormal and then a retest shows them to be normal.
Over the years I have had blood tests done which showed high potassium, jaundice, and B12 deficiency. Then a retest shows them to be within normal limits. The B12 deficiency had them sticking cameras down my throat and up my backside as they thought I possibly had bowel cancer or stomach cancer, that was a worrying few weeks before I got the all clear.

Lysed blood in the tube, sometimes because the additive and blood haven't been mixed properly after collection can do this.
Too fine a collection needle and over shaking the tube also candidates.
I will always ask for a confirmatory repeat if its over 5.0

Thank you, since reading Bill Bryson's 'The Body a guide for occupants' I've been verging on hypochondria!
