Will my teeth be all right being left for six weeks?
Earlier today I was told that, part way through a course of treatment, the orthodontist who was treating me has had a family crisis and can't see me until January. A new retainer had to be made for the middle six teeth in my lower jaw. Years ago I had an orthognathic operation to move them and their adjoining bit of jaw forward. The retainer was fitted later when they started to regress. On Wednesday of last week I had the old retainer removed and an impression taken, on Thursday I had my teeth cleaned and the last of the retainer's glue removed and I was going back on Wednesday to have the new one fitted. They've offered me an appointment next January.
Will they be all right or should I ask for a different orthodontist to take over my treatment?
