Am I the only one that feels cold?
Discussion
I constantly feel cold when I'm at work or out and about. It seems that I feel it more than most. I feel it down to my bones on some days. It's not even proper winter yet! Why is this?
I see a lot of people during my train commute across London, and none of them appear to be wrapped up especially warm. I saw a guy in a pair of shorts earlier! I'm wearing a pair of trousers, thick socks, a t-shirt, jumper, and a jacket. I should probably switch to a winter coat...

Nope, never feel cold, swimming everyday in the English Channel in a pair of shorts does wonder for heat regulation. Start by having a cold shower in the mornings, just begin with a few seconds then work up.I see a lot of people during my train commute across London, and none of them appear to be wrapped up especially warm. Just been through this, or in process. Lost all temp control in the cold, didn't matter what I did.
Blood works fine - changed diet now and added iron/zinc/b12 vitamins and fingers crossed seems to be easing off.
I still see people less wrapped up than me, but at least I am not a miserable shivering wreck all the time now.

I feel the cold if I'm at my desk at home or watching TV.
I marvell at people who say they have their central heating set at 18C - even with a sweat-shirt on it needs to be at 21C for me to feel comfortable, and 22C is better.
I'm OK if moving around - for instance I can wash the car on a chilly day and I'm fine once I get going.
I've always been the same. Only thing I've noticed, especially when working at home, is it's more noticeable if I'm hungry,

As the Gman said, it is a symptom of hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's.
It's easy to medicate with Levothyroxin, but unfortunately doesn't hugely help with not feeling the cold.
Improving circulation/metabolic rate through exercise does temporarily help.
I’ve been on levothyroxine for years now, I’d say after about 6 months of getting the doses right I certainly don’t feel the cold like I did before the meds, made a big difference to me. It's easy to medicate with Levothyroxin, but unfortunately doesn't hugely help with not feeling the cold.

Also worth getting vitamin D & vitamin B12 levels checked OP

Possibly lack of getting out and doing some proper exercise.
this. I find that the more exercise, cold baths/showers I have.. the better my tolerance to cold.Edited by Evoluzione on Friday 11th November 17:55
