Dental Charges - Denplan

Mrs BC and I have had Denplan for several years now. We make a monthly payment which covers check ups, hygienist, fillings and other routine treatments. We just have to pay any lab fees on top and implants aren’t covered. It’s been working well.
It’s been irritating over the years though as the fee seemed to rise just ahead of inflation each year. Now it’s gone up way ahead of inflation. I was paying£35.68 in 2021 then increased to £39.96 for 2022 so + 12%. Now they want £47 for 2023 so + 17.6%!!!!!
Any thoughts? Neither Mrs BC or I have had anything other than check ups for 2-3 years now.

The wife and me have had Denplan for more than 30 years. We currently pay £65 and it is going up to £72 a month in January.
My biggest gripe with them is we had nothing for our money during the Covid fiasco and are still missing out on one hygienist appointment each a year, reduced from 4 to 3, due to backlog pressures they say.
I had considered cancelling but what's the alternative. The NHS can't provide any meaningful service and likely never will again. Another private dentist would probably be just as expensive or maybe more expensive.
I guess we just have to suck it up as the price to pay for peace of mind.

Our dentist offers a ‘Smile Plan’ for £24.50 monthly including:-
2 check-ups
2 hygiene appointments for a scale and polish
Routine monitoring dental X-rays, as and when required (up to 2 per year)
Preventative dental advice
Plus 10% off selected private dental treatments
Think we may go for that and self insure for more major treatments.
As far as I can se there are no set charges or even definitions of what is in each package - it varies depending on what the practice wants to include. I'm on the Essentials level & for £21 a month & get the same as your Smiles package. Just don't be surprised if they find you need work that would have been covered under the full Care plan that you now need to pay for.
Our local private dentist (Young dentist of the year BTW) has similar plans, I think I pay around £13 per month for 3x checkups and 3x hygienists, plus 1 x-ray per year plus 10% off treatments. I think this is the middle plan.

All the cheaper deals are all very good if you never need any work. If you do the charges kick in and can be eye watering. With the full Denplan package I am covered for all work, can get emergency treatment anywhere in the world and have accident cover. It's amazing how many accidents I have had over the years where all the costs were covered by my Denplan policy.
