Having spent most of the night voiding the contents of my stomach by various offices, does anyone know what the guidelines are on drinking?

NhS says to stay hydrated. Stomach says throw that water right back out at ya.

Kinda over feeling like this!

If you’ve really got it then whatever you drink comes straight back out either from your mouth or bum or both at the same time.

Iced water small sips and put a cheap plastic garden chair in the shower and sit there till it’s over.

Water and rehydration powders, keep on till they stay down, it’s horrid but it’s over in 2 -3 days, or was for us, the ability to projectile the liquids is something we’ll never forget, my wife went through it at premier inn, poor cleaners hehe

I was delirious and shook the bed for part of mine to, bit like malaria in that sense, best of like with it as it’s a beast, covid was a joke in comparison

I'd have stayed at home with noro personally.

I wanted to laugh at this too earlier. Suffice to say not a good idea. Feeling a little better, not been sick since 4am, but exhausted and can’t get to sleep

It’s bloody horrible; but…

We were skiing in the alps. Sarah was ~4 months pregnant, and woke me up at about 2am saying she felt st and had stomach cramps.

As I’m lying there working out if I should ring someone, I hear a thud, running feet and then the distinctive noise of my mate in the room next door voiding himself in the bathroom though the paper thin walls.

I cheered up hugely when I heard someone upstairs do the same 10 mins later. Baby is fine, I know what this is.

It went through the resort that week. The reps didn’t have a nice time.

I got it on the plane on the way home. Literally as we rotated on the runway…..

It's nasty, I had it about 10 years ago. I remember sitting on the toilet thinking how is it possible for this much to come out?

I then got back into bed, and as I lay down it felt like someone had just poured a pint of water into my stomach. Literally straight back onto the toilet for round two.

I had it several years back - over a week of stting at such velocity I swear my cheeks lifted off the seat. I've never felt so utterly, utterly ill, it was unrelenting round the clock 24 hour misery - take a sip of water, squirt a gallon, time after time after time.

In 10 days I lost 10 pounds in weight. I spent the whole time in isolation in our top floor bedroom, thankful that it has an en-suite. O/H left supplies on the landing then retreated to safety two floors below, I saw no one the whole time, not a soul except when I went to the window and O/H waved from the garden.

Later, when chatting with friends I had visited a couple of days beforehand, they cheerily said, "Oh yes, we all had that..." Their grandsons, who'd been there when I called, had caught it at school. rage

I’d only ever heard the term ‘projectile vomit’

Experiencing it in its proper state for the first time is quite amazing, sat up in bed it cleared the end of the bed, even in the state i was in, i was seriously impressed eek

My wife got it before/on a trip to London with her friends and subsequently shat herself on platform 9 3/4rs at Harry Potter world. Her whole family came down with it, but oddly I was completely unaffected. I did some reading and apparently your blood type determines your susceptibility to norovirus.

I appreciate none of this helps your current predicament!

When I had it a few years ago, it was the first time I'd shat the bed since I was a baby. Despite having an ensuite just a few feet away, I couldn't make it back there in time.

I've got covid right now and it's not in the same league.
