For the last 3 months we have been building a cabin in the back garden for Mrs Megaflow's new counselling business. It was finally finished and furnished this weekend, and it has ruined me...

Saturday I fitted the skirting boards, painted the skirting boards & window frames and then built a step out the front of it.

Sunday was spent cleaning the floors, windows, fitting blinds, building furniture, moving furniture in, etc.

Today, I am broken, everything aches, legs, arms, shoulders, back, everything and I look like death in the mirror.

Why do I suspect I know the answer, I used to be able to do physical stuff like this all the time without much issue, but now it finishes me off, I am only 47 but I suspect you are going to tell me, yep that's normal now.

I'm younger than that and that's how I would describe myself after a hard-working weekend biggrin

You’re unconditioned, and no 47 is no age

I know how you feel, my shoulders sound like a pepper grinder these days.

It's doing stuff your body is not used to.

I'm 60 and pretty fit. Walk and hike, 100 press ups every morning as well as 100 squats.

I climb the 300 steps to work on the 12th floor with no problems as well as run up all the escalators on the tube.

I hung a door the other day using a normal manual screwdriver.

I was fooked the next day. Ached in places I didn't know I had and my hands bloody hurt.

Was putting screws into very hard wood.

Take up building and after a couple of weeks you'll be fine hehe

That's a busy weekends work by any standard, assuming after a normal working week too?
I wouldn't be too concerned by feeling fecked after that.

Yep, it all followed a standard 40 hour week at work
