I've got a spot on my knee which has been there for years but never hurt or proved a problem. Recently it's been hurting. Unsure if it's a cyst or ingrowing hair. Obviously kneeling on it causes pain. I've called my doctor for a telephone appointment which isn't much help.
Any ideas on what this could be?

Probably not this but one time my dad kneeled on a small piece of tempered glass while working and didn’t notice that it had gone into his knee and lodged under his knee cap. Didn’t notice til months later when he got a massive infection and had to have surgery to clear it out and remove the glass.

They’ll probably ask you to send them a photo like you’ve taken. If you want it dealt with you will have to play it up otherwise you won’t get anywhere. Any ideas on what this could be?

And then when all the urgent appointments are taken by people ‘playing up’ their symptoms you can come on here and GP bash. Honestly people, stop being so bloody selfish. A spot on a knee does NOT require an urgent appointment, you’ve had it for years.
