Rash from conifers

Having had to do a lot of maintenance on our conifers for the last week or so I have a rash on both arms. Tried anti-histamines no change and the cream from the chemist sooths it for 2 minutes before the itching returns and I want to scratch my own arms off, anyone have any old wives tales/tips/hacks(aws) that will help?
