Not as it might seem.

Just a little concerned with this, have had it now for about a week and it shows no sign of breaking up, also makes sleeping very tricky.

but big issue is at night if I get a coughing attack I get acid reflux a bit too, now I don't know of the acid causes the cough or vice versa.

Have chucked away anything new I have been eating in past few days to delete those things, but it is a bit odd.

but you know with coughs you can usually see the light after a few days as you can start feeling phlegm etc, very little with this bugger, and it feels exactly the same on day 6 as on day 1.

Most cases I would just ride out a cough but this is very annoying and I am having to be off work as it is horrible spreading germs around obviously, but do any of you have decent remedies, cough mixtures you swear by? Brands etc? I have not had a cough for a very long time so am out of practice"!

I can guarantee that's the reason for my cough that has started in the last few days; it's been happening every sodding summer for the last 60+ years.

A few years ago I had a dry/tickly cough that lasted for months. It was incredibly annoying, especially when at work.

For me i think it was just dried phlegm/mucus in my throat (something called post-nasal drip). Drinking cheap fizzy drinks (Asda diet lemonade) helped fix it (I assume it has some kind of scouring effect on the windpipes) smile

No help I'm afraid, but I'm in exactly the same position, even the timescale, never felt this rough with covid, no one I know has anything like this.
I've not been outside my garden since Saturday.

Does it go away when you eat or drink? If so, acid reflux might be the cause.

I think this might be the issue, although at 50 you might think it would have reared its head before,

seems I was eating a fair bit of cheese, this is fatty obviously and was causing the issue, I had never associated a dry tickly cough with this at all but doing some research finds it is a part of this.

So we will see, just seems weird that I had a short sinus issue, then this cough, and the cough has just stayed, never gone away, makes sleeping very tricky and is massively debilitating.

hopefully cutting out any fatty foods will help
