Almost 3 weeks ago I thought it’d be a good idea to catch a cricket ball with my face rather than my hands..
Longish story short, checked over/ X-ray at A&E to be told my eyeball and sight is ok and will heal by itself.
No bones out out of place or splintered.

However, this lump appeared a day or two later - the bruising has almost gone but the lump just isn’t dissipating at all.
Can’t get a GP appointment for 2 weeks, and I’d feel rather guilty going back to A&E again (as at the moment it’s neither an accident or emergency..)

Doesn’t particularly hurt when I touch it and it’s quite firm.
On the first pic you can see the indentation from where it split open (no stitches, just steri-strips applied)
Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks.

Head to minor injuries if you have it, A&E if you don't.

Looks like blood is getting in there from somewhere.

Managed to get a telephone consultation this afternoon - sent the surgery the pics, Dr tends to think it’s just a haematoma.
Says to keep an eye (lol) on it but can take up to six weeks for my body to break it down.

Had the same on my elbow, took about 9 months to go away.

Hopefully will recover quicker on the face, you are less likely to be constantly ttting it as I was doing with my elbow.
