A couple of years ago I had an issue with trying to work out the meaning of life and all that, the purpose of it all, my place in it.

I have finally comes to terms there is no meaning, purpose, etc. it’s all just bks, and we are here for a good time not a long time.

With that in mind, the working week, and especially the evenings that go with it seem a real waste, just seem to be waiting for the next working day.

With that in mind what does everybody do during the workday evenings?

ETA: there was supposed to be a pole attached to this…

I look at and book regular evenings and weekends out

Hate Facebook but occasionally log in to see if any local events are promoted.

This weekend I'm off to a covers band festival for the day. Also just booked to see Dave Chapelle in liverpool which involves a 2 night stay over.

Have numerous comedian and music nights randomly booked as well as Bugsy Malone.

Not everything is my taste but my wife and I get to go out and that's half the fun.

At weekends we go for walks. Nothing special but it's nice to see new places. Went to near Rochdale this weekend to walk round a boating lake. We really enjoyed it regardless of the 1hr drive in each direction.

The world's a big place and its easy to explore. Also not everything costs a lot of money to experience.

Exercise - I'm training for 70.3 in Weymouth in September, and a full ironman in July next year. Nothing like Swimming, running, and cycling to take up all your free time.

If i am free -

Motorcycling - nothing like escaping for an evening to a pub for a coca-cola.

Computer games - nothing like escaping for an evening of shooting stuff.

Reading - nothing like improving yourself and becoming better and learned.

Family - nothing like a coca cola with the missus.

Used to play a decent level of rugby, but covid and injury have put pay to that.

Usually some form of sport with a club/organisation or friends - two evenings a week. Bar night at work on Thursdays so usually a few games of pool. The other evenings are spent relaxing/recovering/going to the supermarket.
