Planning to go and see my GP about this (when I can get an appointment!) but thought I'd ask ask on here in the meantime.

Background: 30, reasonably fit and active (play football twice weekly), not overweight, no health conditions

A month ago or so I noticed I was getting soft while getting it on with a girl I met through an app. I'm naturally quite prone to worry and I became fixated on it and ever since my urges have dropped. I haven't completely lost interest, but definitely reduced and also stopped having morning wood.

I've no other symptoms, energy levels are fine but should add that I have been stressed as of late, with work and a few other worries on my mind.

Is it simply a case of speaking to my doctor and getting my testosterone levels checked?

Yes, pretty much. Whether they agree to do it is another matter. Whether they do the full suite of tests to make a proper diagnosis is also another matter (need to look at more than just testosterone). And whether you come back as having hypogonadism and they offer treatment is very much another matter again.

There is a low testosterone thread here somewhere, have a read and go armed with good info to your GP. Most people get fobbed off and given advice on lifestyle. If you're lucky enough to get a blood test, most people are fobbed off as being 'normal range' even though it isn't (or maybe it is but you might have sky high SHGB which leaves you with very little testosterone to use - yet they'll look at the testosterone amount and say it's normal and send you on your way).

There are private companies these days who will do various blood panels via a postal service. There's one who do a full suite which I've been thinking of getting done just an MOT. Worth a look if your GP doesn't offer to do a blood panel for you.

Right OK will speak to my doctor as first port of call and see if he will agree to test. I have a feeling he will say it’s all in my head (which to be honest it probably is) but let’s see.

Stress, the problem made worse by the worry that it's going to happen again.

It will get better once you have met her a few times, and worries are out of the way.

Take a viagra. Why not?

The knowledge that your equipment has set into, essentially concrete, could give you the confidence along with the needed libido.

Aye, but at least you can go through the motions even if you don't feel like it!

What’s your diet like?

A vegan friend of mine suffered a lack of libido (probably not helped by the state of the activist vegan monstrosity he was dating… but I digress) and following blood tests it was down to a zinc deficiency.

Following the Zinc supplements and adjusting his diet, he was back to feeling in the mood.

Alternatively chew tobacco

Yeah... but you can't take your kids swimming in an ability.

It's almost certainly the stress causing this, along with the anxiety that it might not rise to the occasion. Been there.
Pop a blue pill...they're magic for such situations.

Thank you for the responses and suggestions. Think I will hold off going to the GP just yet and try to relax more and not force the urge. Haven’t changed my diet, everything else is fine so hopefully just a short term anxiety/stress related thing.
