Evening all,

Just wondering if I should be crapping myself or not.

I have something at the back of my mouth - when i swallow it feels almost like something is stuck. I noticed something white which I think is attached to one of tonsils.

This has been there for roughly two weeks - I know I should call my gp but due to being overworked I've kept forgetting to make an appointment but recently been looking online and now I'm worried.

Background - 46 year old guy. Drink more than i should...honestly maybe verging on twice safe weekly limit and moderately overweight.

Anyone had similar?

Cheers
Baz

Have you tried gently squeezing the tonsil to see if the white thing dislodges? Might be a 'tonsil stone'.

Sounds exactly like a tonsil stone to me.

They do indeed smell like the Devil's armpits!

Thanks all.

Think it must be one of those - I watched that youtube link - thanks for that. Not much gives me the gip but that did for some reason !

Amazing how it came out that easy....do they just fall out themselves over time? I have a really strong gag reflex - Covid PCR tests had me virtually vomiting in my car seat. no way I could squeeze the tonsil....but if I had a wee tool like that guy in the video had I might be ok.

Thanks again.

I had had a few of those in the past, the give away is just feeling it with the back of my tongue when swallowing. As you saw in the video it is possible to make them show more by having your mouth open and closing your throat, In the past that has been enough for some of these to pop out.

I used to get a plastic toothbrush and use the non brush end to help them out like the guy did in the video with his proper tool.

Very satisfying to do, can't remember the last time I had one though.

Cheers man.

THought it had gone but the fecker is still there...not much showing at all but its still there...tried pressing with a cotton bud but nothing has happened. Done loads of gargling but still nothing. Will buy some dental toolkit from from the big online shop hopefully get it with that.
