Got caught on inside of my ankle during 5 a side last week but managed to carry on playing. Swelling has gone down but the area is still painful if I press on it. Have full mobility in ankle and no issues walking and putting weight on it.

A bruise has appeared further down though, pic here:

Rather not waste my GP's time if it's nothing to be concerned about.

Normal

Just blood tracking through the tissues under gravity.

Theres that many bones around that area you might have a small fracture but the bone is set in place.
Not much can be done. A few weeks of discomfort and it will heal.

Thanks - in case it is a small fracture best to sit out of football for a few weeks I take it?

You have no pain walking and putting weight on it. What's it like when you run or stand on one leg? If no problem running, then the chance of fracture is highly unlikely.

There is only the (big) calcaneus and squarish shaped Talus bone there, below the medial malleolus of the tibia (shin bone). All the small bones of the foot are in the mid portion.

Really hoping it isn’t a fracture.

Can stand on one leg perfectly fine. Haven’t ran yet but pretty sure that’ll be fine also.

Area above the bony part of ankle which sticks out is still tender when pressed on though but no bruising there.
