Bleeding...down there.
Discussion
So,
Monday, I Was feeling under weather drained. Left work early and went home - got undressed for a shower. Noticed blood on the inside of my underwear, front - where the old man sits.
Had this each day since. Personally i thought maybe a UTI. When I pee its sore - like needles getting stuck into him. No burning just sore.
Been blood on the bedsheets when i wake.
Went to GP who tested my urine - no nitrates so not a UTI. He was stumped with my symptoms and is arranging a scan to check my kidneys. Personally crapping myself..........bleeding from the old man cannot be a good sign of anything.
I'm 46 - generally healthy - stressful job and had a lot on recently.
Anybody had this before?

Its great you have a scan (took me ages to get the docs to take me seriously with my issue, although its not the same as yours), keep an eye on your symptoms and keep on at the doctors if it gets worse or things slow down at their end, try not to over research online or you'll scare yourself even more.

Yeah - been doing that a bit today.Back to work tomorrow but worried about the bleeding....its not overly much but enough I'm worried it'll be seen at work. stting myself over all this - but I know it's more likely to be much less serious than what's going through my box just now.

If you are bleeding so much that its noticeable, is it not worth speaking to the doc again, sounds like you could do with seeing a specialist? Not sure I'd be going into work if it was that bad. Have you tried mens pads, supermarkets or chemists sell them.
This was in my thinking. The bleeding isnt constant - but it happens everyday. It's fairly dilute pinkish blood as opposed to bright red...some browner areas but defo not a constant flow. I feel well enough now to return to work and god knows they need me in. My manager knows whats going on but doesn't care.
Men's pads seem the best option.

Sorry to hear about your manager. Is there anyone at work, maybe HR you can talk too? Without wanting to sound too crude, but even if I felt physically ok, knowing my knob was leaking blood would likely effect my performance and concentration
I'll defo be thinking about it that is for sure ! If i think being at work (standing/walking a lot as opposed to being at home sitting) makes it worse then I'll get a line from the gp.Craphouserat said:

If i think being at work (standing/walking a lot as opposed to being at home sitting) makes it worse then I'll get a line from the gp.A routine urine test detected blood in my urine and I had no symptoms at all. At one point I noticed quite a lot of blood mixed with urine in the pan. GP put me on the '2-week pathway' and in the second week I was before a specialist which I thought was a 'chat' on the first visit. Except I first go off for a CT scan and then a cystoscopy where I was given a televised guided tour of the inside of my bladder. It was somewhat difficult to concentrate with my toes curling!
The upshot................there's nothing wrong (small stone???) and it cleared up on its own. Still it was good to get a health check in that area.
Hopefully you'll be like me, get a thorough examination, peace of mind and nothing untoward.

I am far from being a doctor qualified to discuss this however have had similar at approx the same age as you
Scary kind of covers it
I saw my GP the same day - theyre usually useless - and got a fast track referral to the specialist
Phoned up by the hospital nurse 48h after GP visit who organised blood tests and a CAT scan within another 2-3 days
Then had hospital appt 2-3 days after that to see a specialist doctor and have "bonus" awake telescope you know where
Immediately after the above specialist basically cleared me of badness and said it was probably a stone
Good luck
And as I said my GP is fecking useless however on this occasion fast tracked me on account of cancer symptoms

Painless frank haematuria bad enough to think about pads, you need an USS and than camera test to look in the bladder on the 2 week wait pathway. If you don't hear back about a scan date by next week chase up the GP. Waiting time on the NHS are S*** at the moment, but anything close to been possible cancer (which is what needs to be ruled out) gets priority and scans are available within days for 2 week wait requests.
Hopefully it'll turn out to be nothing to worry about.

Second the ultrasound, depending on your age it should come through fairly quickly (2wks if over 60, mine took 3 wks but I’m just over 50)
Had the similar symptoms for a while and as my GP couldn’t find the reason via urine tests and antibiotics not clearing, referred for the scan.
And ask the sonographer (person doing the ultrasound) if it looks like a stone to him/her. They'll come out with the standard - "well, your Dr. will explain it properly after we get a report from the radiologist, but from what I can see, it looks like .........." Had the similar symptoms for a while and as my GP couldn’t find the reason via urine tests and antibiotics not clearing, referred for the scan.
Small stones <4mm may well pass on their own with resolution of symptoms afterwards. So it may be worthwhile looking very closely as you pass urine for the next few days.
If it is a stone and you get lithotripsy, they may ask you yo pass urine through some gauze to catch the debris for analysis.

Re the colour:
-brownish means it's old blood
-pinking means it's diluted with urine or other liquid (semen etc).
A urologist would give you a better idea. They should do an ultrasound check.
My Urologist is called Dr Seaman. Of all the jobs for him to get! -brownish means it's old blood
-pinking means it's diluted with urine or other liquid (semen etc).

Excuse me. Time for a new urologist!OP, I am sure it is just stones. From experience, I had stones for a couple of years and they decided to both pass on the same night. Drink lots of water.
