Recommendation for a foot consultant in the Midlands

Hi all,

I've been struggling with what appears to be Plantar Fasciitis in my right foot for nearly two years now, it's painful to the degree it's curbed my ability to go walking for the last 18 months (which is one of my favourite pastimes/forms of exercise)

Despite having seen a physio and two podiatrists, one who made a pair of orthotics in his practice, whilst the other prescribed some expensive and hopeless custom orthotics, and latterly seeing a consultant privately (who was a complete waste of time), I've not made any progress with the issue whatsoever.

Could anyone recommend a good foot specialist/consultant in the Midlands, either in Birmingham or South West of Birmingham ? Many thanks in advance.

A bit further out (Telford) but I have used Steve @ http://www.thefootdoctor.co.uk and he's been excellent.

Hi Neil, many thanks for the contact, I'll give him a call and have a chat with him, if you don't mind me asking, what did you see him for ?

Not related - my nerves below L5 are shot (cauda equina syndrome) so numb heels and toes and no lift-off, meaning my heels have flattened out considerably and I'm prone to being off balance and requiring some support. He's helped me with general footcare and more supportive footwear and orthotics.
