Two nights of zero sleep and absolute agony, finally took myself in to the dentist this morning.

Slightly impacted wisdom tooth and an infection, oh joy.

Been given a course of anti biotics and option for referral for surgical extraction if I want it as its so bedded in to the gum they can’t do it there. They said at my age (36) its unlikely to come through any more though.

Get the fcensoredker out??

Yes!
I had upper and lower on one side done after a few niggles & was very glad of it, a couple of years later the other side was niggling a little and updating xrays at my routine appointment revealed the remaining lower was horizontal so referred for surgical removal, done & dusted.
Friends have had no end of pain from theirs and its taken 2 confirmed infections before they can get referred for removal

Yes, been there. Done under a local anesthetic - It was huge! It also damaged the molar next to it which needed a root canal and crown.

Got prescribed Metronidazole initially, the worst thing I’ve ever taken. Racing heart, dizzy, felt unsteady on my feet, nausea.

Checked with the dentist and he took me straight off them and then gave me amoxicillin. Starting to kick in now and feeling so much better, but once the infection has cleared I’m definitely going back to be referred after he can check it all properly without pain.

Googled Metronidazole since and found out its quite a nasty potent one.
