Sorry for content a bit bowel movement related.

Around 2 weeks ago now I had an upset stomach. Can't recall eating anything and no one else in the family has ended up ill.

I ended up from the Monday to Friday with bouts of sickness and constantly having Diarrhea.

It seemed to clear up by the end of the week which was longer than I expected, but I kept thinking just be a day or so etc.

Now the next week has gone by and bowel movements still very loose. No real pain or discomfort but had very low appetite.

Not sure if I need something to restore gut health or anyone else with anything similar.

Short of having had a bout of food poisioning in the past never really suffered with stomach bugs or issues.

Probably worth while speaking to your GP. Diarrhoea shouldn't last this long and you'll be dehydrated. It's also pretty annoying!

I had this a few weeks back. Similar to you I hadn't eaten anything different and no one who ate the same thing had the same problem.

I was expelling for 3-4 days, eventually nothing but water. Then it disappeared as quick as it arrived. I had no idea what was going on throughout.

Because I was so empty not a great deal happened after that for a few days but it was clearly trying to be normal again.

Build yourself back up something bland easy digestable food. Scrambled egg , mac and cheese etc.
A week of Yakult would not go a miss too.
Your gut is out of balance, something like a curry will shock it resulting in more diarrehea.

A friend with IBS told me to try the Yakult type things so will stock up after work today and continue to eat bland as anything.

Thanks and if no improve by end of week will book a doctors appointment to ensure nothing else untoward.

Probably need a stool sample to identify the cause of any diarrhoea lasting 2 or more days.
Could be campylobacter.

Reminds me of some toilet graffiti - "Happiness is a solid Sh*t"

Thus bug has been doing the rounds. I know several friends that had the same as did I, sick once, diarrhoea for a few days then loose for another week.

It will pass, no pun intended laugh

Yeah it is defo doing the rounds. Quite a few folks - self included had some variant of this, most I heard of had it worse. I couldn’t really eat or drink due to feeling nausea so was spared the ‘fireworks’. I thought it was the Moderna jab which caused it for a while.

Or your username was causing the problem?

Funnily enough I wondered about the Moderna vaccine too - my last two vaccinations have been mRNA with Moderna second. I was having repeated cycles of being unable to defecate and being unable to stop. It lessened slowly and is now back to normal. If hadn't only recently had a FIT bowel cancer screening I'd have been more worried.

another + 1
Had it myself, no vomiting but had diarrhea, 5 days off work.
tried banana/toast etc. would pass out the other end as liquid within half hour.
Eventually took imodium (loperimide) which stopped it and caused the opposite effect for a few days.
Have lost 2 or 3 kgs. Still not feeling 100pc right.

Not sure I'd bother the GP unless really worried/passing blood etc etc.
Definitely take imodium, stay very well hydrated, it will get better.

I just ate plain chicken and rice for 3 days and 2 x these every meal https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bio-Kult-Advanced-Multi-S...

Stomach is all good now - alas now I have the curse of labyrinthitis . FML

Nearly a month on. Pretty much back to normal now, bar if I eat anything moderately or slightly greasy it just passes through me instantly.

Can't get to a toilet quick enough. Is it possible to just suddenly become intolerant of grease?

With respect to Jimmy above, have you any abdominal pain? My mum used to be a great one for eating rind on steaks, bacon etc, until her gall bladder said no and had to be taken out.

Been laid up since Thursday with this myself, had originally thought food poisoning due to the nastiest beer I've ever tasted on Wednesday pm. A real pain in the arse!

Both my wife and I had this on Tuesday. Still a bit queasy. Down to two evacuations a day at the moment.

I was due attend a hospital appointment on Tuesday; phoned the clinic, and they said to stay away. There was 'something' doing the rounds.

There is a significant problem with both husband and wife getting the vomiting bug at the same time: you have to clean up your own vomit.
