I’m joining a gym, modern place, big etc and can only get in with access code. All good and good location for me.

However - the lockers you have to bring your own padlock and I saw (and the worker said, as they aren’t liable etc) some had been forced in times past. It’s in changing rooms / showers area so out of sight.

Clearly scum are everywhere these days. So do you keep (the items) with you while working out? Or I’m considering leaving them in my car! But that’s not great idea either, maybe worse. Join a different gym isn’t the answer as I think all will be similar; they problem is scrotes.

Why take your wallet to the gym ?

Leave it in the car or at home , phone i carry with me around the gym because it's got the workouts on it and music.

Why do you need your wallet?

Use Google/Apple pay. Leave wallet at home.

Buy arm strap thingy to hold your phone on arm.

Doesn’t solve the issue of where to leave your keys though!

Be the Motivator and buy a bum bag.

I will be using it on my way home after work hence wallet, phone, car key! It’s not realistic to go home first as it will turn into a marathon event each time

Could leave your wallet in your car.

Or just buy a decent padlock. I bought an Abus one with a 4 digit code years a go for gym etc, never had a problem. Some people use really small ones for suitcases and things.

Surely this only goes two ways.

Carry less stuff.

Keep what you need to carry with you.

Use a gym bag. Unless your gym doesn’t allow them ….

i always keep my phone and car keys, i don't have a wallet. Padlocks take seconds to get into. Get a bumbag if you need to carry it.

Surely they have CCTV - if not in the changing rooms themselves then surely corridors and car park.

Struggling to see why anyone would steal something from a gym locker. If it is not very busy it would be easy to work out who is the culprit as you would all be members right? If it is busy then surely someone would see something.

Not the easiest of targets by any means.

Leave it in the locker.

I just bring a single card, my keys and phone & drop them next to my water bottle when I'm exercising. Although in my gym the only thing people seem to steal is the plate you need.

Put your car key in your pocket/running belt (if driving is the only option), use a garmin music to listen to music/podcasts if you have to then you don't need your phone.

The biggest guy in the gym I used to go to had a Tesco shopping bag full of his crap that he'd carry around the gym area as he used different stations. If it's good enough for him...
